The European Commission welcomes the recent compromise reached by Member States to extend EU tax transparency rules to digital platforms, making sure that those who make money through the sale of goods or services on platforms also pay their fair share of tax. This follows the proposal made by the Commission in July as part of the Action Plan for Fair and Simple Taxation Supporting the Recovery. The agreed proposal on administrative cooperation (DAC 7) will ensure that Member States automatically exchange information on the revenues generated by sellers on digital platforms, whether the platform is located in the EU or not.

The European Commission has disbursed €8.5 billion in the third installment of financial support to five Member States under the SURE instrument. As part of today's operations, Belgium has received €2 billion, Hungary €200 million, Portugal €3 billion, Romania €3 billion and Slovakia €300 million. This support, in the form of loans granted on favourable terms, will assist these Member States in addressing sudden increases in public expenditure to preserve employment. Specifically, they will help cover the costs directly related to the financing of national short-time work schemes, and other similar measures they have put in place as a response to the coronavirus pandemic, including for the self-employed.

România va primi zilele următoare 3 miliarde de euro de la Comisia Europeană, reprezentând prima tranșă a împrumutului de 4,1 miliarde de euro în cadrul Instrumentului SURE (Instrumentul european de sprijin temporar pentru atenuarea riscurilor de șomaj într-o situație de urgență) , pentru acoperirea deficitului generat de măsurile guvernamentale pentru limitatea impactului pandemiei de coronavirus asupra pieței muncii, a anunțat miercuri ministrul finanțelor publice, Florin Cîțu.
